2025 Competition Rulebook

PARTICIPANTS

The competition is open to all pizzaiolos.

Participants may compete individually or as representatives of their pizzerias.


APPLICATION PROCESS Applications can be submitted:

Applications are open until all available spots are filled, or until November 15, 2025, at the latest. A valid application must include:

  • Personal information

  • Email and phone number

  • Selected competition categories

  • Proof of payment


COMPETITION FEES

  • Entry fee:

  • Third category:

  • Fourth category:

EQUIPMENT & ARRIVAL

All participants must arrive on time and collect the equipment provided by the organizers.

No refunds will be issued in case of no-show.


DRESS CODE

Participants are required to wear the official uniform provided by the organizer: hat, t-shirt, and apron. Wearing jewelry, bracelets, watches, or rings is strictly prohibited. A competition judge will be present to monitor compliance. In case of violations, the following penalties apply:

  • No hat:

  • –10 points

  • Jewelry, watch, or rings:

  • –10 points

  • Use of phone while making pizza:

  • –10 points

Only competitors wearing the full official uniform (hat, t-shirt, apron) may go on stage to receive awards.


GENERAL RULES

  • Each competitor brings their own ingredients

  • The organizer provides ovens and pizza peels

  • Dough must be prepared in advance and ready for use

  • Competitors may prepare their dough at the competition venue one day prior

After the competition, competitors must remove all personal tools and clean their workstation. At the judge’s signal by the oven, the competitor bakes one pizza, serves it on their own plate or a board, or on a plate provided by the organizer, and submits it to the jury within the time limit set for their category.


LATE SUBMISSION PENALTIES

  • 2–3 minutes late:

  • –10 points

  • 3–5 minutes late:

  • –20 points

  • More than 5 minutes late:

  • –50 points

Only the competitor may present the pizza to the jury.

Serving an appropriate drink with the pizza is allowed.

Giving gifts to the jury is strictly forbidden!


CATEGORY SPECIFICATIONS

Pizza Classic

  • Baked in electric oven

  • Competition time: 12 minutes

  • Pizza must be round and baked in the oven

Teglia alla Romana

  • Baked in electric oven

  • Preparation time: 30 minutes

  • Use of pre-baked dough is forbidden

Pala alla Romana

  • Baked in electric oven

  • Preparation time: 25 minutes

Pinsa alla Romana

  • Baked in electric oven

  • Preparation time: 20 minutes

Napoletana Contemporanea

  • Baked in electric oven

  • Preparation time: 12 minutes

Napoletana

  • Participants must prepare Margherita or Marinara

  • Baked in electric oven

  • Preparation time: 12 minutes

  • Maximum diameter: 33 cm

  • Crust height: up to 3 cm

  • Baking time: 60 to 90 seconds
